CSI's Sizzling Dominatrix Returns!

*Crack*! Beware the Dominatrix!

Few "CSI" fans (Confession: Red Dot Diva is one) can ever forget the beautiful and enigmatic Lady Heather. The once dominatrix-turned-psychologist/therapist was intelligent, unconventional and a potential love interest to the eccentric Gil Grissom.

Grissom's and Lady Heather's screen chemistry was undeniable. It was engaging to watch them verbally challenge each other about society's as well as their own perceptions and ideas.

Boldly And Lustfully "Closer"

After their very successful run of "The Full Monty" last year, local theatre production company Pangdemonium! decided to tread on the dark side with "Closer" as their "next act".

"Closer" is an intelligent, raw, explicitly adult play by award-winning English playwright, Patrick Marber.

Although, Red Dot Diva observed that "Closer" is actually quite a misnomer for the play, given that by the end of the tale, none of the characters were any more intimate with each other.

Most non-theatre geeks would have been more familiar with the 2004 movie adaptation which starred Jude Law, Natalie Portman, Julia Roberts and Clive Owens. But in Red Dot Diva's opinion, the story with its no holds barred and oft-lurid language, was more suitable for the stage.

Mini Darth Vader Meets VW

It is expected of "The Force" to go viral. Especially when its wielded by a mini Darth Vader!

The adorable Volkswagen commercial called "The Force", caught on like wildfire through the social networks, before it was actually aired during Superbowl. Red Dot Diva first caught it from her friends' feed on Facebook last week.

The popularity was probably due to its use of the universally-known Star Wars character and theme song.

Guess Who's Back on "Smallville"?

In one of the more epicly-evil news of the week, Lex Luthor Prime will be back in the series finale of "Smallville"!!!

Michael Rosenbaum, who had left the series in 2008, went on to concentrate on writing. He is currently filming the Syfy half-hour comedy series, "Saved by Zeroes", which he also created.

Unlike some of the other "Smallville" actors who were no longer in the series, he had been very reluctant to return to the show, even for guest spots.

Red Dot Diva is still trying to come down from a hyperventilating-estrogen high after hearing the news. AHHHHhh!!

What Diva Thought Of "The Green Hornet"

Red Dot Diva can already hear the fanboys running away screaming like little girls after they read this review. If they ever do get past the midway point of this blog.

But no matter.

It is sometimes part of Red Dot Diva's evil plans to horrify the geek masses. *g*

So if one does not want to read a review of "The Green Hornet" that does not entail copious amounts of fervent bashing, then please **DO NOT** proceed further.

Emerald City Comicon, Perhaps?

SDCC 2011 tickets may have been sold out. But for the true-blue comic and less mainstream pop-culture fans, there are still many other options where one can get a convention fix.

Coming up in less than a month, is Emerald City Comicon held at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle, WA on 4th to 6th March, 2011.

Red Dot Diva notes that the convention has some very cool celebrity guests like "Star Trek" veteran William Shatner, and well-loved convention guest James Marsters ("Buffy", "Angel", "Torchwood", "Smallville", "Caprica") and "Fringe"/ LOTR actor John Noble. Other actors are fan favourites Felicia Day, Wil Wheaton, Jonathan Frakes, Nicholas Brendon amongst some many others.

Superbowl Thor and Captain America Trailers

Holy Super-Stretchy Spandex!

Red Dot Diva has very little interest in watching sports. Even if the bulky men are running around in very tight-wear.

However, when it comes to a different kind of spandex on a different type of men,
Ahh... well..... 'nuff said.

Comic Con 2011 Passes Sold Out!

Yep, Red Dot Diva nodded.
They have indeed been sold out.

And this all happened within 24 hours of the online ticketing process. The 4-day pass sold out in less than 3 hours after registration opened!

This is unprecedented in Comic Con history.

The process was wraught with problems from the start. Not that many were totally surprised due to the difficulties faced in previous attempts and a test-rehearsal. But Red Dot Diva guessed that many were still hoping that Comic Con and Ticketleap were truly able to iron out the server issues.

Kapow! Wham! Biff! Superhero Movies Ahead!

With the deluge of superhero movies these days, Red Dot Diva is predicting that prices for spandex will be increasing soon.

Can one imagine the bales of that stretchy synthetic fibre (especially in red, blue, white and black) it would take to make these costumes?

After all, Red Dot Diva is sure those super-powered tooth-and-nail fights and arduous practice rounds must cause a lot of wear and tear on these attire.

Comic Con 2011 Tickets On Sale - FINALLY!

After all the confusion and frustration regarding buying passes, SDCC 2011 tickets will finally be available for online registration on 5th February 2011, 9am PST. That's in about 12 hours folks!

A little bird (thanks @DarkStitch!) had already told Red Dot Diva about the ticket registration date and the news had leaked on the internet before the official announcement by the Comic Con organizers themselves.

5th February is a Saturday morning. So fans with usual work hours will have less complaints about needing to take time off to do the registration.
