Be The Hero. Or Just Geek Out at the Batman v Superman : Dawn of Justice Promo Activities at Clarke Quay and Bugis+

It's about time Warner Bros. Pictures takes over centrestage for the next few weeks as CapitaLand Malls goes all out with the promotional movie tie-ins for the next big DC Comics superhero movie "Batman v Superman : Dawn of Justice".

Last Friday night on 4 March, Red Dot Diva was invited for the media preview which was held in two places - Bugis+ and Clarke Quay. This is the first time CapitaLand Malls is doing a movie tie-up of such an extensive scale, and their marketing team seemed to be very excited about the events that they have planned for fans and shoppers.

Over at Bugis+, the open space area on Level 2 has been set aside as a battleground for the two popular DC caped superheroes, with a special appearance of the warrior princess, Wonder Woman.

There is a display of collectibles by Hot Toys and Sideshow Collectibles, including these beautifully crafted busts and the "Tumbler" Batmobile.

At opposite sides are two interactive game niches, where fans can experience just a little what it's like to take on the mantle of Superman and Batman.

With "Defender of Earth", one can literally use their eye-power and be like Superman using his heat vision to zap away meteorites which are hurtling in a path of destruction towards Earth. Even with spectacles, Red Dot Diva managed to power up her stare (thanks to hours of practice happening at the office), and she is proud to say that she did a decent job at blasting those meteorites. (Diva Tip: One may need to close the eyes for a second and blink so that the system can refocus on your eyes' aim!)

On the other hand, geek bro Jedd did a better job than her at throwing batarangs while playing the "Batman Battle" game. Intuitively, one would use a arm throwing movement to harm baddies coming straight atcha', but there seems to be a *specific* kind of arm action that gave more accurate hits. As there were more expressive movements required, Red Dot Diva thought "Batman Battle" was the more fun one of the two.

At about a quarter to 7 PM, Red Dot Diva noticed that more media and guests have arrived. Most of them crowded at the section which was made to appear like a part of post-battle Metropolis. Although, Red Dot Diva wonders if it was actually Metricpolis?

Three 1:1 life-sized statues stood waiting to be unveiled. Argh. So much Anticipation!

Well-known celebrity Bobby Tonelli, who was looking all handsome in Clark Kent-ish garb, was host for the night's activities.

Just before 7 PM, he asked everyone whose side they were on, and then suddenly, the entire Bugis+ transformed into a scene of protest, with "demonstrators" waving picket signs yelling and shouting their support for either Superman or Batman.

With a rush of heavy scuffling, a noisy hooligan-like BRAWL broke out right before the spectators. Blue shirts vs White shirts showing their allegiance with Superman or Batman. *WHACK* *BIF* *POW*!

WAHHHHH. So exciting!

Bobby Tonelli "broke up" the fight, and with the help of Steve Ng, Head of Marketing Communications from CapitaLand Mall Asia Limited, Diane Chan, WB Singapore's Marketing Director and Wallace Tay, Director from Pacific Licensing Studio, the life-sized statues were finally revealed!

Armoured Batman looked strapping and very impressive. Standing strong at the centre, between "da boyz", was Wonder Woman. She wasn't a Gal Galdot lookalike, but she looked powerful and sooooo pretty! She is certainly Red Dot Diva's favourite statue. Weirdly enough, Superman looked like he's pissed off at someone or something. Heh.

Altogether, the superhero trinity, each standing at over 2 metres tall, looked absolutely majestic. A total DC fans' fantasy-dream.

There was 25 minutes for photo-taking before everyone had to get to the next activity site. Needless to say, Red Dot Diva and Jedd was already on an adrenaline-high, and scurried around snapping as many pics as they could with all the statues.

Around 7:30 PM, everyone was ushered toward the transport that would head toward Clarke Quay for the second segment of the media launch.

Red Dot Diva and some of the media pals did not get to take one of these special "Batmobiles", but she suppose, an airconditioned "Bat Bus" was good enough.

It was already nightfall when the transport arrived at Clarke Quay. There was a palpable sense of excitement in the air. Together with the rest of the guests, Red Dot Diva followed the line of picket holders toward the pavilion where the Batmobile replica was stationed.

The Bat Signal loomed over the converted warehouses in Clarke Quay, so that it seemed like it this was the clubby nightlife side of Gotham City. Except, it was more glam. Hahaha.

There were also a few of these dudes with green LED suits swinging ropes of electric lights. Were they trying to be the Green Lantern?

Bobby Tonelli, now looking more relaxed in blue Superman/ Batman t-shirt, returned on mic to announce that the Batmobile was going to be unveiled very soon.

With the onset of dramatic Batman music and lighting, the tarp was slowly pulled away to reveal the Batmobile replica from that used in the upcoming movie.

The fully armoured Batmobile was larger than Red Dot Diva expected, and the colour of the vehicle wasn't jet black, but more of a dark grey-black. Despite it's huge size, it was aerodynamically designed, with the tractor tyres at the back, and the two machine guns set at the front.

It looked so so gorgeous, and reminds  Red Dot Diva of the time she visited WB Studios at Burbank in 2014 during the 75th Anniversary of Batman. She had flailed so hard at the sight of the various Batmobiles and BatPod in the Batman exhibit!

The cosplayers may not be there now, but Red Dot Diva says DC Superhero fans must not miss heading to Clarke Quay to marvel at the Batmobile. The replica will be there till 20 March, before it rolls off to Westgate Mall, where it will remain there from 22 March to 7 April.

With the exciting kickoff of all these wonderful exhibits, the stage is all set for fans to take their stand as to #WhoWillWin when "Batman v Superman : Dawn of Justice" premieres in local theatres on 24 March.

Fans can also take part in the battle via their wallets by spending a minimum of $180 over a maximum of three combined receipts on the same day to redeem one of these lovely exclusive "Batman v Superman : Dawn of Justice" babies pictured above. If you collect the full set, two lucky winners will get a air of air tickets to Hollywood and enjoy the exclusive VIP tour of Warner Bros. Studios!

For the record, Red Dot Diva prefers to Be The Villain. MUAHahahaHA.
But even a Lady Villain digs the Batmobile and can choose to be in TEAM BATMAN.

Are you ready to choose a side?
