Scifi Movie "Arrival" Getting Rave Reviews; Arrives in Local Theatres 12 January 2017
Directed by Denis Villenueve, scifi movie "Arrival" received rave reviews when it was screened at the Venice Film Festival in September 2016. The movie was released in the U.S. market in November 2016, and film critics and scifi fans applauded its philosophical and introspective message as well as its tight structure.
It has been hailed as a movie made for the "thinking scifi fan".
Also in this elite team is scientist Ian Donelly (Jeremy Renner), who is attempting to solve the communication issue more logically through numbers.
Forest Whitaker is the military intelligence officer Colonel Weber who puts the team together, pushing them to find out as much information as they can, especially if this is indeed an alien invasion.

From the trailer, it is obvious that "Arrival" is not akin to the face-paced, explosive, shoot-to-kill action thrillers that just happen to feature aliens, like "Independence Day" or "War of the Worlds" (2005).
The main premise in the movie is about communication between two different beings. Red Dot Diva thinks that this is such a relevant topic in current times, as race and identity is called into question in several heated debates across the globe. Other than words, what other communication cues can people use in order to understand each other?
"Arrival" the movie premieres in theatres islandwide on 12 January 2017. That's more than a month to go before scifi movie fans can see what the hype is all about.
