Ubisoft Celebrates 30th Anniversary at E3 2016, June 14-16, 2016 at Los Angeles

The Electronic Entertainment Expo, or better know as E3 for short, is a favourite show to attend for many gamers and tech lovers. It is the largest convention of its kind in the Western World and thousands flock to Los Angeles Convention Centre each year to check out the latest game launches, consoles and accessories.

The bigwigs of the games industry, like Sony, Microsoft, Bandai Namco, Ubisoft and Capcom, usually make their important launches and announcements at E3. With popular game developer and producer Ubisoft, E3 2016 will be a special show for the company. It is their 30th Anniversary this year, and they are all set to make E3 the base for their celebration with their fans.

AsiaPop Comic Con Manila 2015: Jason Momoa No Longer Attending; Look out for Amalgamated Dynamics

NEWS ALERT!

Celebrity guest Jason Momoa will no longer be attending AsiaPop Comicon Manila (APCC Manila).

This is very unfortunate, but as in the case of actors, their film schedules and opportunities can come up in the last minute, and such guest cancellations are quite common in the convention scene.

Do not feel too disappointed though! Red Dot Diva says that APCC is still set to heat up the convention floor on 18 to 20 September. Their current guest list is one of the best seen in this region so far, encompassing a very broad range of genres for any respectable geek.

One exhibit area to look for is the one hosted by Academy Award-winning special effects studio Amalgamated Dynamics (AD), a leader in prostethics and animatronics.

STGCC 2013: Introducing Local Sculpture-Meister HairyAsHell

Regular STGCC attendees for the last few years would have probably noticed a small booth in Artist Alley named HairyasHell which featured clay sculptures with amazing details and creativity.

The man and real name behind the moniker is Adeeb Md Mynul Islam, who works as an animator with video games company Ubisoft Singapore. He also has a teaching stint at MAGES Institute of Excellence, a private tertiary school for Animation, Game Design and Computing.

But when the night shadows appear, his Master Sculptor alter-ego HairyasHell emerges and he painstakingly churns out these impressive sculptures and creations.

(By the way, Red Dot Diva has investigated and found out that Adeeb's alter-ego label has little to do with a certain level of hirsuteness. So he claims. Hmmm..... )

At this year's STGCC, Adeeb is listed as a special guest as part of the WDA (Singapore Workforce Development Agency) booth, together with animators and artists - Stanley Lau (Artgerm), Javier Secaduras and Derrick Song. The team will be doing panels and demonstrations during the convention.

Savouring "Game of Thrones" Treats at HBO Asia's Season 3 Premiere Party

HBO Asia is definitely swaying towards the side of evil these days. Especially when it comes to the insanely popular TV series "Game of Thrones".

Would decent folks marry geekery, gourmet food and yummy eye candy together? No! 'Coz that's a downright evil thing to do!

Red Dot Diva could imagine a huddle of HBO Asia executives scheming over how they could make the premiere launch as enticing as possible. Let's screen the opening episode of Season 3 "Game of Thrones" surrounded by lots of good food, they must have determined.

And that's how a bunch of hapless invited guests, including Red Dot Diva, ended up at Savour 2013 one fateful evening of March 12th for HBO Asia's "Game of Thrones" Season 3 premiere launch party.
